Fox (Vulpes Vulpes)
Fox control is necessary in order to ensure that damage to game, wildlife and livestock by fox
predation is reduced to acceptable levels, particularly at vulnerable times of the year e.g. nesting and lambing time. Also they can be a problem when a fox breaks into a hen house it is surrounded by easily caught prey and it is a normal behaviour and a good survival strategy to kill all prey available and try to cache it. Given the option, the fox will come back for the remaining corpses and cache them.
Fox control in agricultural areas are usually carried out by night shooting with the use of a high powered lamp and high powered rifle.Night shooting is a safe and effective method of control. It is the responsibility of all those involved in pest and predator control to ensure that control is carried out properly.
We encompass the BASC Lamping Code of Practice whilst carrying out any night time control.
